Valetta VX580 Refurbishment

Valetta VX580 Refurbishment

VX580 Vickers Valetta c.2

Regular readers of the NASAM BLOG will know that throughout the summer of 2023 and into the autumn, we published many photos from the Engineering Workshop Team and the Paint Team of the work being undertaken on our Valetta as it underwent a lengthy refurbishment process.

The airframe was blast-stripped of the old paint before being blast-painted. Once the blast painting had been applied, the Paint Team took over to reinstate the detailed work. Although not quite finished before the inclement winter weather arrived, we have taken the still photos of the work carried out so far, and produced a short video of what has happened since the start of the process in June 2023.

Once the paint Team complete their work on the detailing and the aircraft markings are back in place, we will update this video and publish it again in the blog and on our YouTube channel.

Great work. The aeroplanes are the public facing front of the museum, so need to be looked after. Good to know they are in such good hands. See you soon, BC
