On February 19<\/b>th<\/b> \u2013 which is the week of the Spring half-term, we will be oiling the gates and greasing the hangar doors and opening up the Museum to the public again. We are already planning our event schedule for 2025, with several dates already booked up for the return of the Building Brick weekend \u2013 and a new Meccano Building weekend, where models and modellers can get together and exchange ideas and drink tea. More about those, and other events as we get closer. For now though \u2013 all you need to know is that the doors are open, the tea urn is fully serviceable and you are most welcome to join us to see what East Anglian Aviation heritage is all about!!<\/p>\n

The Museum site will be fully open as usual for six hours each day, with aircraft, cockpits and equipment displays, the 446th, Air Sea Rescue and ROC buildings all open and Museum Volunteers on hand to explain the thousands of aviation related items that make up the Museum Collection.<\/p>\n

The NAAFI cafe will be open for the serious business of tea (or coffee) and cake, and the shop will be offering a wide range of aviation related goodies to help you make the most of your day.<\/p>\n

PLEASE NOTE that<\/b> \u2013 for the first time in 52 years of being an aviation heritage site, NASAM will be charging for entrance to the Museum<\/b>, although car parking will remain free. This has been a really tough decision to have to take and we understand that it won’t be universally popular. Our ageing collections need proper care and attention to remain at display quality, the buildings also need to be looked after and we are also looking to the long term future of the site and everything it contains when we ask for \u00a310 for an adult ticket, \u00a35 for a child or \u00a320 for a family (2 adults and up to 3 children).<\/b> There will be an annual entry facility should you choose to Gift Aid your day ticket, allowing unlimited repeat visits for the remainder of the year for those able to keep coming back. Please see the NASAM blog site (NASAM Charging 2025<\/a><\/strong><\/span>), or our blog, for further details on charging.<\/p>\n

We have aeroplanes on display that date from before the war through to the Canberras, Lightnings, Hunters and Harriers that have seen service in the RAF in more recent times. Across the whole site we have more than 60 aircraft and cockpit sections on display and can often offer access into many of them for photo opportunities. Museum Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and point out some of the features of each aircraft.<\/p>\n

Well behaved dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on a lead (but not in the shop please, it gets a bit narrow). We are wheelchair friendly with access to all areas – apart from aircraft cockpits.<\/p>\n
