the <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum<\/strong><\/span>, will hold our annual <strong>ROC Day <\/strong>on&nbsp;<strong>Sunday, the 19th of September 2021<\/strong>.&nbsp; The Museum will be open from&nbsp;<strong>1000 until 1600<\/strong>&nbsp;and entry is free, as is parking on the day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is the annual <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Royal Observer Corps Association Day<\/strong> <\/span>at the<strong> Museum<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Flypast_by_the_RAF_BofB_Memorial_Flight\"><\/span>Flypast by the RAF BofB Memorial Flight<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We received a letter from the RAF Events team to say that we have been allocated a flypast by the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) on the day.&nbsp; The exact wording was&nbsp;<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Flypast Spitfire\/Hurricane<\/strong><\/span>.&nbsp; Whether that means Spitfire or Hurricane or Spitfire and Hurricane we are not sure. Stay tuned to our Social Media to keep up to date <span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em>(see the foot of the blog)<\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Flypast on the day will be subject to both weather conditions here and at RAF Coningsby and to BBMF operation commitments on the day.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"lots-to-do\" class=\"joli-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Lots_to_Do\"><\/span>Lots to Do<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Come along and meet members of the <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>ROC<\/strong><\/span> at one of the regions premier aviation museums at the centre of East Anglia.&nbsp; Enjoy talking to these veterans and take a look at the 1000\u2019s of artefacts, 60+ aircraft and cockpits.&nbsp;Visit the <strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">ROC Museum<\/span>,&nbsp;<\/strong>which is one of the museums we have on-site.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition to the aircraft scattered around the site and in the main hangar, we have themed museum rooms.&nbsp; The themed rooms are dedicated to the <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>ROC,<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>RAF Bomber Command, Coastal Command\/Air Sea Rescue<\/strong><\/span> and the<strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"> 446 Bomb Group<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"family-friendly\" class=\"joli-heading\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Family_Friendly\"><\/span>Family Friendly<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With a family-friendly atmosphere, all are welcome.&nbsp; No advance booking is necessary, just turn up on the day.&nbsp; This is an affordable and enjoyable day out with lots to see and do with free entry and free parking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There will be uniforms and hats for the children to try on as well as military weapons to handle.&nbsp; Keep an eye on our Social Media sites for additional information nearer the time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The on-site shop has both Museum and aircraft-related items for sale.&nbsp; Items range in price from \u201cpocket money\u201d upwards, with lots of models and toys for the children.&nbsp; The shop also serves drinks, sweets and ice creams.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We are wheelchair friendly in all areas apart from aircraft cockpits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are picnic tables throughout the site and we have plenty of space for the whole family, including the family dog.&nbsp; Dogs are welcome in all areas apart from the shop.&nbsp; We do, however, request you keep your dogs on a leash at all times.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"naafi-cafe\" class=\"joli-heading\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"NAAFI_Cafe\"><\/span>NAAFI Caf\u00e9<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The NAAFI Caf\u00e9 is open again in the main hangar.&nbsp; As well as displaying numerous pieces of artwork donated to the Museum, the NAAFI is serving muffins, crisps, Eccles cakes, flapjacks and numerous other snacks along with soft drinks, tea and coffee.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"keep-an-eye-on-social-media\" class=\"joli-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Keep_an_Eye_on_Social_Media\"><\/span>Keep an Eye on Social Media<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To keep an eye on the date and any restrictions in place at the time, please follow us on social media.&nbsp; Also, more details of what is available on the day will be published in the week before the event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Links to our various Social Media pages can be found at the foot of this blog.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Last_Time%E2%80%A6\"><\/span>The Last Time&#8230;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Due to the COVID situation in 2020, we did not hold this particular day. The last event, therefore, in 2019 saw excellent weather throughout the day until around 1600.&nbsp; There were plenty of visitors, old and new, and it was a great day out for families and
