Museum<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Another_Year_at_the_Museum\"><\/span>Another Year at the Museum<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It seems crazy that another year is drawing to an end and that Christmas is just around the corner. The volunteers recently got together for our Christmas meal, in many ways it felt like it was only a small part way through the year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It\u2019s been a year of many different aspects. In many ways, life at the museum has gone on as it has for many years; in others, it has been a year of great change.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sadly, the year saw us lose too many regular volunteers from both past and present. We thank each of them for their considerable contributions, and our thoughts are with their friends and family at this time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The museum has been fortunate to recruit around a dozen new volunteers during the year, we welcome them to \u201cThe Gang\u201d and look forward to being joined by more in the future.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The year saw us charging admission for the first time in the museum\u2019s history. Whilst visitor numbers were down, the change has been healthy for the museum&#8217;s finances and put us in a better position to face any challenges that the future might hold.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Several displays have been worked on over the year, the transformation in the Air Sea Rescue and Anderson shelter areas are both very noticeable. Other areas have been tidied up and developed, not as much impact but all are making the museum a more open place, showing off the exhibits to greater effect.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The major change was the arrival of the Jaguar and the departure of the Sea Harrier. It was sad to see the Sea Harrier return to the Imperial War Museum on completion of its loan to us. At the same time, it was good to receive in return the Jaguar, which was gifted by IWM rather than being on loan. It represents an aircraft that was a large part of the aviation scene for over 30 years whilst it was based at nearby RAF Coltishall.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our plans for expansion of the facilities have progressed slowly; I never cease to be surprised by how slowly these things move.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We continue to receive extremely positive feedback from visitors, be that in person during the visit or afterwards on Tripadvisor, Google and similar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We wish all our readers goodwill for the festive season, a happy the last blog, although not strictly an event day or days, it is worth noting that we will be open for two days in December. On Monday, the 29th of December, and Tuesday, the 30th of December 2025, the Museum will be open from 10:00 until 15:00 each day.<\/p>\n<p>There will be several volunteers available to answer questions and provide guided tours of the workshops and other areas, including flight simulators and open cockpits.&nbsp; &nbsp;With the NAAFI Caf\u00e9 open for hot and cold drinks, plus snacks, this Aviation Museum will reopen its doors on Wednesday, the 18th of February 2026.&nbsp; On normal weeks, the Museum will be open every <strong>Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday<\/strong> and all <strong>Bank Holiday Mondays<\/strong> until further notice.&nbsp; The opening times will be as in the previous year, from<strong> 1000 through to 1600<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth jotting down in the diary
