Carpet Sweeper"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Update from the Link Room Part IV &#8230;.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>One of the more interesting items in the Electronic Warfare display is the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Transmitter\/Receiver 1621<\/strong><\/span> otherwise <strong>Carpet II or Carpet Sweeper.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TR 1621 was designed to jam the German Wurzburg radar used to control night fighters without needing a skilled operator.<\/p>\n<p>The receiver portion tuned across the frequency band and if it found a signal, transmitted noise for a preset time.&nbsp; It then moved on to look for another signal.
