{"id":4487,"date":"2018-05-10T20:05:03","date_gmt":"2018-05-10T19:05:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aviationmuseum.site\/?p=4487"},"modified":"2018-05-10T22:45:16","modified_gmt":"2018-05-10T21:45:16","slug":"update-from-the-chippy-workshop-part-vii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviationmuseum.site\/index.php\/2018\/05\/10\/update-from-the-chippy-workshop-part-vii\/","title":{"rendered":"Update from the Chippy Workshop Part VII"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Update from the Chippy Workshop &#8230;..<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Now that the weather is improving, and we are open five days per week, we are receiving more visitors.&nbsp; More visitors means that we have to be careful when carrying out repairs to the outside buildings and hangars.&nbsp; Safety is the museum&#8217;s priority.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In an earlier blog, I mentioned that we had to renew the ceiling in the paper store (or as we call it &#8216;the shed&#8217;).&nbsp; We have now put a complete new roof on that building.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Also, we have made a new canopy to go over the Bomber Command entrance as the old one was in a bad state of repair.&nbsp; I understand that it had been there for a long time.&nbsp;<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n<p>Tony is still making bird tables for sale in the bric-a-brac shop in the hangar.&nbsp; This helps to generate income for the museum.&nbsp;&nbsp; We also made a number of garden seats and tables as well as recycling old tables and chairs given to the bric-a-brac.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_1_placeholder\n<p>On&nbsp;junior engineering day for school children,&nbsp;we in the chippy workshop had a last minute booking from a young lady who wanted to learn how to handle some of the workshop tools.&nbsp; She went home with two bird boxes that she had put together.&nbsp; One of them she completed without any help from the workshop staff.&nbsp; In the near future you may see this young lady chippy volunteering in our workshop.<\/p>\n<p>The red triplane in the hangar has been brought into the workshops for a new coat of paint.&nbsp; We think that the Red Baron finish was not too popular with the visitors and there had been no offers of purchase, unlike some of the other &#8216;push planes&#8217;.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_2_placeholder\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a class=\"fasc-button fasc-size-medium fasc-type-popout fasc-rounded-medium ico-fa fasc-ico-after fa-hand-o-right\" style=\"background-color: #5c8b9e; color: #ffffff;\" rel=\"noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/aviationmuseum.site\/index.php\/2018\/02\/21\/update-from-the-chippy-workshop-part-vi\/\">Previous Chippy Update <\/a><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Author:: Barry Baxter<\/span><\/h5>\n<input class=\"fooboxshare_post_id\" type=\"hidden\" value=\"4487\"\/>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Update from the Chippy Workshop &#8230;..
