{"id":7975,"date":"2019-03-12T20:32:24","date_gmt":"2019-03-12T19:32:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aviationmuseum.site\/?p=7975"},"modified":"2019-03-12T20:32:24","modified_gmt":"2019-03-12T19:32:24","slug":"update-to-hurricane-p3708","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviationmuseum.site\/index.php\/2019\/03\/12\/update-to-hurricane-p3708\/","title":{"rendered":"Update to Hurricane P3708"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Update to Hurricane P3708<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Last weekend saw the arrival at the <strong>Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum<\/strong> of a large lump of Hurricane: a complete \u2018centre section\u2019 rebuilt off-site for <strong>Hurricane P3708.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Most of P3708\u2019s original centre section did not survive its impact with the ground in August 1940 and so much of the structure has been rebuilt with parts from a variety of other Hurricanes, most with no known identity. However, significant parts are from the original P3708 wreckage.<\/p>\n<p>If it was possible to re-shape such parts, both physically and financially, then that has been done. It is skilled and expensive work but necessary to retain as much originality in the display as possible.
