Engine Telegraph from the R100 airship …………
A fairly recent exhibit to be displayed is an Engine Telegraph from the R100 airship.
Following the crash of the R101 in France on its maiden flight in October 1930, the R100 was ordered to be scrapped, despite the fact that it had a superior structural design by Barnes Wallis. It had six engines so six telegraphs are presumed but we don’t have a picture of the cabin interior which shows this equipment in situ.
We would appreciate a copy if one does exist.
