Venue

We are happy to provide an interesting venue for you to have an event.  Wheelchair and family-friendly, the museum has long been the stopping place for military groups, vintage, classic and modern vehicle clubs, cycling organisations and coach trips.  The place to stop off, take some refreshments, congregate and take in one of East Anglia’s hidden gems of a museum (according to many of our visitors).

Mission Statement

At the Flixton museum, we have a mission statement – To conserve, preserve and promote the history of aviation in East Anglia, whilst providing a fun, family-friendly and interactive museum, promoting education and remembrance of the events of the past.

What We Have

In order to achieve our mission statement, the Museum has over 60 aircraft or cockpits on display as well as tens of thousands of artefacts.  There are flight simulators and some hands-on exhibits.

In addition to the aircraft and exhibits outside, we have the main hangar housing some of our aircraft and displays.  There are rooms behind the shop containing displays and artefacts from the start of aviation in East Anglia up to more modern times.

We have separate buildings dedicated to Air Sea Rescue and Coastal Command, RAF Bomber Command, The Royal Observer Corps Association and the 446th Bomb Group USAAF who were stationed at the nearby Bungay airfield (Station #125) in 1944.

With a consistently high rating on TripAdvisor, and having been awarded a Certificate of Excellence, we are at the heart of East Anglia and our opening times can be found on our main website @

There is a NAAFI-themed café on-site with a shop and numerous picnic tables scattered throughout the grounds of the museum.

We are able to provide ample free parking.  The Museum is free for entry, although donations made for the visit are most gratefully received as this is our main source of income.

When do you want to come ??

It is possible to book visits outside our normal operating hours provided that sufficient advance notice is given to organising the numbers of volunteers required to operate the site.   Also, provided there are sufficient volunteers on duty and advance notice is given,  there may be aircraft cockpits open for viewing, and flight simulators to be flown.

Guided Tours

Guided tours can be provided on request provided we can schedule the right Volunteers to be able to do this.  Use the form below to contact the museum to see when this could be made available.
