Spitfire Tablecloth ……
In the ROC building, we have a tablecloth raffled in 1940 as part of the ‘Spitfire Appeal’. This tablecloth would have been signed by members of the Observer Corps who were on duty at the Oxford Centre, to raise money for that appeal in 1940.
We would like to know if anyone recalls this, or knows any of the Observers who signed this item. This list of Observers is given below, and the signatures are shown in more detail listed in surname blocks at the foot of the page.
