Aviation Enthusiasts at NASAM 20th May 2018 …
Sunday 20th May dawned a little overcast and cool as the Aviation Enthusiasts arrived at the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum. The weather improved considerably during the day and by the lunchtime, the weather was fine and the sky clear. This clear sky allowed the flypast of the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Dakota to take place.
The Dakota aircraft made three passes over the Museum much to the delight of the aviation enthusiasts who flocked out of the hangar to see the aircraft. Some images of the Dakota are below and I apologise for the poor quality as I was in the wrong place, but at the right time.
The groups, stalls and interests represented on the day included:
Outside:
- Norwich and District Aviation Group Link to website
- New Farm Aviation Heritage Group Link to website
- Stomp Rockets
- Memorabilia and clothing from the Museum
Inside the Main Hangar:
- Oulton Broad Scale Model Group Link to website
- Table Top Display of Flying Models
- Tombola
- Aviation Books,
- Posters
- Plates and Hats
And in the Ken Wallis Hall:
- The Waveney Model Flying Club flying model exhibition Link to website
One visitor who came along was 100 years young and had spent 34 years in the Royal Air Force. William Wilkinson from Devon, who had been involved with electronics, when he was serving in the RAF, spent some time looking around the Museum with his family during the morning. A picture of William is included below.
Good day; interesting visitors especially William Wilkinson.
