Bawdsey Primary School Visit 16 Oct 2018
On Tuesday 16th October 2018 the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum welcomed a school visiting for the first time. A group of 19 pupils from Bawdsey Primary School came along to learn about World War II. They were studying the Battle of Britain in particular and during their visit they were able to look inside our Spitfire Cockpit.
They also learned about the Home Front with a visit to the Air Raid shelter where they heard sound effects from an air raid. The Flight Simulators gave them an idea of how to fly an aeroplane and they talked about what it would be like to be an evacuee. They were able to handle World War II weapons and were surprised by the weight of the machine gun.
With more schools visiting in the near future we will be busy making new memories for our young visitors.

Bawdsey Primary is a thriving rural Church of England school with a family atmosphere. The beautiful school and grounds are located in an area of outstanding natural beauty and historical interest – close to the coast, the River Deben and the market town of Woodbridge.
A great visit by an outstanding school.
