NASAM – Pucara and YouTube clip
Our thanks go to Peter Walker from the NASAM Team for finding a YouTube clip of the SAS in the Falklands in 1982 and pictures of the Pucara ‘Toto Juan’ which is part of the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum collection. Peter posted the clip on our Facebook page; it and the link are reproduced below.
FMA IA-58A Pucara, 8769M / 028
Built 1979, the aircraft served with the Argentine Air Force 3rd & 9th Air Brigade; It was present in the Falklands Islands during the war in 1982, and following a nose wheel leg collapse, it acted as a decoy at Port Stanley until the islands were liberated. The aircraft was moved to the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum in 1994.
