Update for this Saturday, 26th June 2021
Possible Flyby – Catalina Flying Boat
The Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum has been notified that the PBY5A Catalina Flying Boat “Miss Pick Up” will be making a trip to celebrate Armed Forces Day on Saturday 26th June 2021.
It is likely that “Miss Pick Up” will use the museum as a waypoint on this flight and overfly the museum between 1230 to 1245. This flight is obviously subject to operational / weather conditions at the time and to the serviceability of the aircraft.
It is possible to follow the flight on Flightradar24. Alternatively, this is the public link for the SPOT Tracker @

Covid Restrictions
Now that the Government are easing restrictions, we have been able to open up more areas of the Museum. We have trained our Volunteers to cope and work with the COVID situation that we find ourselves in and that we are now open to the general public on certain dates and with some restrictions. For the foreseeable future, these days are:
Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays each week
from 1000 until 1600.
Once again, the Main Hanger and other separate Museum outbuildings are open with limited numbers. The only part of the Museum not currently open are the rooms behind the shop.
The NAAFI café is once again serving hot and cold drinks with some snacks inside a dedicated area within the main hangar. This area also shows off some of the artwork that the museum is privileged to have been donated.
Full details are on our COVID Restrictions Page, which can be accessed by clicking on the button immediately below:
The Flixton Museum
The Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum is a volunteer-run museum and charity located at Flixton, near Bungay, in Suffolk and is dedicated to the preservation of the aviation history of the area. We have a collection of 60+ aircraft and thousands of aviation-related artefacts.
The Museum is wheelchair friendly and family-friendly with things for the children to see and do.
With a shop on site, refreshments can also be found in our NAAFI-themed Café, which also displays some of the many artworks donated and lodged in the Museum. There are picnic tables throughout the site. Dogs are welcome on a lead (but not in the shop please unless they are assistance dogs).
We have separate Museum buildings for Air Sea Rescue / Coastal Command, RAF Bomber Command, Royal Observer Corps & 446th Bomb Group USAAF. See our website for full details (click on the banner at the foot of this blog).
We have FREE ADMISSION and there is FREE PARKING on site.
