Painters Update
27/01/26 – More from the Reds (Rollers That Is)
With Barry out with a cold, it was left to Red 1 (Mark) and Red 2 (Ian) to carry on painting parts of the main hangar floor, whilst Red 3 (Gwen) peeled off to sand and paint mouldy chair legs.
With the NAAFI’s tables and chairs moved to a new dining location, Chez Vampire, and with an appreciative audience safely barriered off, Ian broke out the long roller pole to cover the floor in double-quick time. Photo 01.
Meantime, Gwen was sanding and staining chair legs at a rate of knots, her hand moving too fast for the camera. See photo 02.
After lunch, and with the NAAFI floor finished, Ian and Mark moved to working on chair legs with Gwen, setting up a proper little production line. Photo 03.
By the end of the day the team could “reflect” on a floor well-painted – photo 04 – and on having fantastic looking legs – photo 05.
Just leaving them time to wonder what John and Roger might have been doing under the Vampire’s wing. Photo 06. Does anybody want to suggest any amusing captions?

Funding
We are a charitable organisation, relying now on admission charges, grants and donations from the people that visit. Any and all help is greatly appreciated and enables the Museum to continue in our mission “To conserve, preserve, and promote the history of aviation in East Anglia, whilst providing a fun, family-friendly and interactive museum, promoting education and remembrance of the events of the past”.
Would you like to help??
One of the ways we save money is by having a dedicated group of volunteers who keep the Museum and its exhibits both manned and maintained. We hope, that a few people would consider helping in any the three ways below:
Help by becoming a Museum Member, by volunteering to help at the Museum, or by making a Donation to help with our running costs. To learn more about these three methods of assistance, please click the corresponding button below to access the relevant information.
