School Visit ..Bunwell Primary School .. 13 Mar 2018 ….

The museum had a group of young visitors today (Tuesday 13th March 2018) that were with us to study the science of flight. The 23 youngsters from Bunwell Primary School went around the museum in four groups doing bases with different volunteers.

One group would be with the Link Team finding out for themselves how to fly an aeroplane, they each had a chance to “fly” one of our Link Trainers, and one of the computer-based flight simulators where they tried to fly from Caernarfon to RAF Valley on Anglesey.

Another group would be walking around the museum finding out how an aerofoil (shape of the wing) works, and where you find them in many more places than you expect.

The third group meanwhile would be learning about all of the parts of an aeroplane and what they are for.

The fourth and last group were learning about the different jobs and roles that we use aeroplanes for.

At the end of the day, having rotated through all four bases, the children all agreed that they had a good day out, and promised to come back with their parents.
