Diary Date – Family Fun Day at Flixton on Sunday 22nd July 2018
The next event in the Norfolk and Suffolk aviation Museum calendar is the Family Fun Day on Sunday 22nd July 2018. The gates open at 1000, and we close at 1700.
This a fun day out for the family with stalls, face painting, stomp rockets, mini donkeys and much more. There will be a display by The Vintage & Military Amateur Radio Society.
It is planned that there will be a flypast by the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster aircraft, subject to operational and weather conditions on the day.
In the afternoon, around 1400 hrs, there will be the unveiling of a memorial stone dedicated to the nearby Bungay Airfield and the personnel and units that served there. This memorial stone, provided by the Airfield of Britain Conservation Trust, is being located at the Museum (see note below).

The Airfields of Britain Conservation Trust
The Airfields of Britain Conservation Trust was established to acknowledge the enormous and unique contribution airfields have made in numerous spheres since 1909. A memorial is intended to be erected at each known disused airfield site in Britain to provide a permanent reminder for future generations. In this case, the Bungay airfield memorial will be unveiled at the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum and is dedicated to the personnel and units that served at the nearby Bungay airfield. This dedication includes the huge contribution made by the 446th Bombardment Group of the 2nd Air Division of the United States 8th Air Force which was based at Bungay from November 1943 until June 1945.
