Photographers at the Museum … Saturday 11th Aug 2018
Today at the museum we had a group of photographers and models who were recreating some iconic poses from morale-boosting articles during the Second World War. The images they were recreating were of female USAAF mechanics who worked on the aircraft in the US. They were also recreating images from the famous Russian Night Witches who were an all-female light bomber unit.
For the purposes of the shoot our Valetta aircraft became a US heavy bomber, and a Soviet light bomber by turn.
The photo shoot was lucky to get brilliant sunshine all day, albeit a little cold first thing.
The girls appeared to enjoy their day at the museum.
Hopefully, the photoshoot images will appear in one or more magazines soon, we’ll keep you informed if we spot them.

PS – I know that a Valetta looks nothing like a B17 or B24, and certainly not like a Po2!!! I expect we’ll get comments. They were offed the Stearman.

Looks like the ‘girls’ were enjoying themselves.
