Big Learner Relay Day @ NASAM 8th Nov 2018

Big Learner Relay Day at the Museum 8th Nov 2018

Driving Instructors across the Country Raise Funds for Children in Need with The Big Learner Relay Day.

Driving Schools will be relaying a top box, (the kind that driving instructors have on the roof of their cars), from one driving lesson to another around England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The relay starts with a day in Jersey on Monday 29th October followed by a day in Northern Ireland on Wednesday 31st October. The top box will then continue its convoy around the rest of the UK from Friday 2nd November.

The grand finale will be a lap or two around Silverstone Race Circuit on Friday 16th November, which is the Children in Need Appeal Day 2018 – 17 days, 3000+ miles, over 190 lead driving lessons and many thousands of instructors and pupils joining the convoy!  With many months of planning, the 3000-mile route has been in planning since May this year.

The Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum is pleased to be chosen by the driving schools as a relay changeover location, and we have opened specially for this day for Children in Need.  Please come along and support the most worthy cause.  The Museum is open from 1000 until the cars depart late in the afternoon.  The changeover is planned to happen around 1430 to 1500.

The two driving schools involved in the changeover are:

  • Pro-Driver Training from Beccles who will be arriving with the top box
  • Lion Driving School from Litcham, King’s Lynn who will depart before 1500 with the top box

Donations to this part of the Children in Need Appeal can be made at the Just Giving Page Big Learner Relay Day
