Striking Out – An update to the Striker Microlight
Several weeks ago the Striker microlight was removed from its position suspended from the roof of the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum so that minor restoration could be undertaken.
That work complete we had to work out how to re-suspend it back in its original position, above the wings of two other exhibits.
A team of eight volunteers were briefed in the morning of Tuesday the 12th March 2019 on exactly how this was going to happen, and each took up their positions. The cable winch could only lift it half way at one go, so once the limit of travel had been reached it was secured off. A new attachment to the winch was then created, and it was lifted the rest of the way.
It has now been secured to the roof again, and a temporary tie put in place to stop it turning around. This will be replaced next week.
Looking good.
How is it possible to live two months in the future?
Well spotted, and thanks for letting us know.
