We do ask, however, that no other historic vehicle clubs attend on this particular day as parking will be an issue.   We do welcome visits from historic car clubs at any other time.

As the club put on their Facebook page …….
“Great news we have secured another date for a Pirates and Planes show for this year…………………………..we all know how popular this show is and it,s good to be welcomed back this year, bring it on ……….
East Coast Pirates are holding our 10TH car show at the Flixton Air Museum (Just off A143 between Bungay and Diss ). It will be on Sunday 22nd Aug 2021.”

The club, which holds the meeting each year at the museum, is Great Yarmouth’s largest car club.  Formed in August 2006 by a group of friends and a club that has been growing ever since they always welcome new members.

The vehicles that are expected are an eclectic mix, with both old and new, modified, hotrod and sports cars, bikes and trikes.

The last time that they came, the Treasurer reported that; “what a day at Flixton today”, she thinks it was one of the busiest days she could remember, and that when she arrived at 8.15 am, there were cars already waiting to get in.  With glorious sunshine all day and more visitors than on most event days, it was a great day out for all.

COVID General Guidance

The restrictions on the number of visitors having been lifted and we will welcome all arrivals to the Museum.  Although no longer a legal requirement, we will continue to ask visitors for NHS Test and Trace details or to scan the QR code at the Museum Visitor Reception Point.

In order to be responsible we will try to retain the least number of guidance restrictions for our visitors as follows:

  • We will open as many buildings as we can safely staff with our Volunteers.
  • We will maintain the one-way system in buildings with limited space.
  • We ask that face coverings are worn when possible in the confined spaces.
  • We will advise what is open and what is closed when visitors arrive.

Although being kept to the minimum, we still have a few COVID restrictions in place at and around the museum can be found by clicking on the button below:

NAAFI Café

The NAAFI Café is open again in the main hangar.  As well as displaying numerous pieces of artwork donated to the Museum the NAAFI is serving muffins, crisps, Eccles cakes, flapjacks and numerous other snacks along with soft drinks, tea and coffee.

Family Friendly

The onsite shop has both museum and aircraft-related items for sale.  Items range in price from “pocket money” upwards, with lots of models and toys for the children.  The shop also serves drinks, sweets and ice creams.

With picnic tables throughout the site, we have plenty of space for the whole family.

We are wheelchair friendly in all areas apart from aircraft cockpits.

Dogs are welcome in all areas apart from the shop.  We request you keep your dogs on a leash at all times, especially on this day with lots of vehicles and children around.
