Diary Date – Family Fun Day – Sunday 28th July 2019
Another Diary Date for your calendars… Family Fun Day at the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum is the day in the year when we devote our time and focus to letting families and especially children that visit, enjoy the Museum with plenty of “hands on activities”. This year the date is Sunday 28th July 2019.
We have:
- Games for the children
- Stomp rockets
- Polystyrene plate gliders.
- There will be uniforms and other aviation artefacts to try on
- We will have some aircraft cockpits open plus the flight simulator, and Link area will be manned
- To keep the nostalgic entertained, Mike Kendall will be here with his 1940s music and dancers
- Usually, the RSPB and the Owl Trust will have their stalls present onsite.
For the Aviation enthusiasts, there will be a flypast by the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Dakota, (subject to weather and operational commitments). Confirmed details of the timings for the Dakota will only be available on the day. Timings are usually published on the official Twitter Account of the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight
At NASAM, we are family friendly with several things for the children to do and see. Other than access to aircraft cockpits and the Anderson shelter, we are wheelchair friendly, including the boardwalk down to the river Waveney.
Barring the shop, we are dog-friendly, and with picnic tables scattered throughout the site, refreshments from our NAAFI themed café can be enjoyed in the open air or in the hangar which is a great place to relax, listen to the music and take the weight off your feet.
With our onsite shop and bric-a-brac stall, there is something for everyone and plenty of inexpensive gifts to take away.
