Wrecks and Relics – Essential Reading …

One of the essentials for regular visitors to museums in the UK is Ken Ellis excellent Wrecks and Relics.

This superb hardback compendium is produced by Ken Ellis (who was Editor of Flypast) and has been almost a lifetime quest to locate, research, and identify every airframe – complete or otherwise – and their history in the UK and the whole of Ireland. This is published every other year by Crecy to provide an indispensable guide for enthusiasts and historians alike. Modestly priced at £18.95, this fantastic book can be ordered on-line post-free. It provides a permanent and invaluable record and is a “must” for the bookcase of anybody with an interest in aviation heritage in this country. It identifies all our aviation museums and collections, provides a brief description of what there is and how to get there, with convenient indices for locations and aircraft types.

This is a good way to brighten lockdown!

Unfortunately, the latest version which was due out earlier this month has been delayed due to the pandemic, but keep an eye on Crecy’s web site for details of its release.
