Open Again – Sun 13th Sep

Open Again on Sun 13th Sep

Open Again on Sunday, 13th September …

After a successful Members-Only Open Day and the first Public Open Day last Sunday, the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum will be open again this Sunday the 13th September 2020.  The gates will open at 1000 and visitors are welcome through to 1600.

With one way systems and other restrictions in place to cope with the COVID situation, we are allowed to have 200 people on-site at any one time.  Smaller numbers are allowed in the main hangar and outside museum rooms, these are controlled by Volunteers to ensure that social distancing is maintained.  Details of those restrictions can be found on our blog in the COVID situation Page by clicking on the button below.

Damage to Adair Walk

Unfortunately, the Adair Walk down to the River Waveney is currently closed due to gale damage suffered a few weeks ago, The boardwalk has been crushed by a falling tree, which also brought down other structures.  Volunteers are working to restore the walkway, but being short of volunteer staff and resources, this may take some time to repair.  The damage can be seen in the photos below.

Family Day Out

With the weather looking good, being wheelchair friendly, and with dogs allowed (except in the shop), this is a great day out for the family with lots of safe space around our outside display area.  There are lots to see, including the latest exhibit, the McDonnell Douglas Phantom FGR2 XV497.

We have picnic tables and seating scattered throughout the site.  Drinks, ice creams and pre-packed snacks are available from the shop, whilst we do our best to make the NAAFI Café safe to open once again.

No Booking Required

No forward booking is required, but entry is being controlled with people being counted in and out to ensure that we keep to our number limits.  Visitors will be asked to fill in the NHS Test and Trace documentation on arrival.

With free entry and free parking, all we request is that, if you can afford to leave a small donation, that would be gratefully accepted to help in our running costs and additional expenses that we have to find now that COVID is with us for a while to come.  If you cannot visit, but would still like to help in some way, pleased see the information below.
