Aircraft Carrier

Aircraft Carrier …

On Sunday the 20th September, the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum had a visit from Ian Driver and his wife.

Their good friend Arthur Howes is now residing in a nursing home and he wanted his model of HMS Tracker, a World War II aircraft carrier, to be donated to the museum. We already have Arthur’s medals which he donated several years ago.

Arthur served as an NCO with 846 Squadron of the Fleet Air Arm during the war. The model took him 18 months to construct and is made from several different materials. It was on display for over 20 years at the Royal Navy Club in Tamworth.

The museum will be placing the model on display with other Fleet Air Arm items very soon.
